A celebration of choral music
in film and television

Saturday 10 February 2018 at 7:30pm

St Laurence, Ludlow

Edge Chamber Choir

Ros Crouch, conductor
Karen Morgan, piano, harpsichord and harp
Edmund Handy, celeste
Michael Bacon, organ
Anita Clements, oboe and cor anglais
Jane Bishop, violin
Tony Robinson, percussion

In a departure from our usual range of music, Edge will be celebrating the beauty, excitement and sheer entertainment of music from the world of film and television. It will be an eclectic mix, from a couple of James Bond numbers to a movement from Mozart's Requiem. John Williams's music features strongly including numbers from a couple of Harry Potter films, beautiful choral music from Schindler's List and Dry Your Tears, Afrika from Amistad. Ennio Morricone's haunting music Gabriel's Oboe from The Mission is contrasted with Danny Elfman's Alice's Theme from Alice in Wonderland. Television music will include the popular theme music for the Vicar of Dibley by Howard Goodall and the rousing and very memorable Alleluia from ITV's recent series, Victoria.

Continuing its link with film-music composer Richard Harvey, the choir is very excited to be performing the music from Luther, specially arranged by the composer for Edge's forces. It will also be performing his very popular Kyrie for the Magdalene from the Da Vinci Code.
